Okay, and the Batchelder Award to Brave Story is for the novel I didn't know about, and not the manga I hadn't known was an adaptation.

The only one that I can comment on is Geraldine Mccaughrean's book, 'The White Darkness' which was published some time ago over here in the UK and which is one of her very best. If you haven't yet read it then you've a treat in store. The others, I suspect, are going to be hard to find in our library system, but I'll print out the list and see what I can find.

I'm looking forward to reading The Write Darkness and the honors books on the Printz list. I've read almost all of the books for the younger ages, or they're on my nightstand now. With the exception of the book that got the Newbery, they were all on my radar.
